The federal government has a variety of resources to help businesses export their goods and services abroad and reach the majority of the world's consumes. Federal
The Foreign Agricultural Service provides a variety of services for exporters.
Of particular interest may be the following information on Partners and Trade Leads which outlines how the USDA can help. You can access an order form for a list of foreign buyers of food, farm, fish and forest products in over 80 countries, and more.
The US Small Business Administration is dedicated to helping small and medium sized businesses and provides export information and development assistance to help small businesses take advantage of export markets, including trade counseling, training, legal assistance and publications.
Lastly, the Department of Commerce's www.export.gov has considerable resources for exporters. This web site is the US government's "export portal" and is regularly updated with relevant information for businesses interested in exporting. Of interest might be the recently launched China Business Information Center which provides information on exporting to China.
State
The state of California has a variety of export and trade related services.
For those interested in agricultural export, the State of California's Department of Food and Agriculture also provides export assistance and provides information on trade development activities in California.
Local
For the benefit of Central Coast businesses, a satellite office of the US Export Assistance Center is located in Monterey. This Center is dedicated to helping small and medium sized exporters with their export strategies.
