Rogers: Democrats Oust Dingell; Hurt Michigan Workers |
|
U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers, MI-08, issued the following statement today after Democrats in the House of Representatives voted to replace Michigan’s Rep. John Dingell as chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee:
“Speaker Pelosi’s decision to replace a champion of manufacturing, John Dingell, with a Congressman from Beverly Hills is a disturbing shot at Michigan workers.
“Congress needs to work together to revive our economy. Replacing a man who has spent his entire life serving Michigan's manufacturers with a man who has spent his career fighting to drive manufacturing out of existence is a terrible way to start a new day.
“As a member of the Energy and Commerce committee, I am willing to work with Henry Waxman to bring new manufacturing jobs to America. I also pledge to fight any plan that undermines our already fragile economy.” |
