Inaugural Ceremonies
The 56th Presidential Inaugural Ceremonies will take place at the U.S. Capitol on January 20th, 2009. Unfortunately, due to unprecedented demand, tickets to the Inaugural are no longer available through my office.
If you are interested in visiting Washington for the Inaugural without a ticket, and learning more about related official events, please submit your information below. You can receive updates via email as the Joint Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies makes new information available to my office.
Frequently Asked Questions:
What about balls, galas, parties, and the parade?
The Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC), formed by the President-elect, is responsible for most of the official balls and galas, as well as the Inaugural Day parade. Ticket requests for these and other official events should be directed to the PIC when it is established.
How do I get to the inauguration and parade?
Parking will be severely limited on the Inauguration Day. Visitors are strongly encouraged to take public transportation.
Can I get a Capitol tour too?
Public tours of the Capitol will be suspended from 5 pm on Saturday, January 17, until Wednesday, January 21.
What will the weather be like?
January is historically cold and wet. Crowds will be very large, and you will likely be outside in the cold for several hours.
Please note: This is not a Ticket request form. Tickets are no longer available through my office.
