The red light is just a red light. Although it seems as if Congress acts as if it is at a red light. Right now the Capitol grounds are under constant construction between the new visitors center being built and many new security features being installed.

The coast encircles the bay, the mountains rushing down to the sea. The fir trees provide a deep green that contrasts with the aqua colored shore, the white surf and tan sand dividing them.

The Capitol has been photographed so many times in its long history (see the Architect of the Capitol). Here is a photo taken with the moon silohetting the Statue of Freedom that stands on the top of the Capitol's Dome.

It is not often your photographic subject is taking a picture of the photographer at the same time. Soldiers are foremost in our thoughts these days, and this photo reminds us of their service to our country and their remarkable sacrifices.

The coast in the 17th district is an awesome demarcation between one of the most fertile agricultural regions on earth and one of the richest and complex ocean bays along any coast. Here you can see a waterfall cascading into a tidal pool.

Another photograph of the Capitol. The section of D.C. between the Capitol and the Washington Monument is known as the mall. Here you can see the reflection of the Capitol and the dawn sky in a large man-made pool right at the beginning of the mall.

The valley seems to stretch far into the distance. Yet you can always see the mountains bounding in every view. Farmers have tilled the fields that feed much of the country in our valley.
