Congressional Travel & Tourism Caucus
The Congressional Travel & Tourism Caucus (CTTC) was founded in 1979, and from the very beginning, Members of the House of Representatives recognized the economic importance of travel and tourism within their communities and the vital need for a congressional advocacy organization to support this multi-faceted industry in Congress.

With the start of the 110th Congress, Representatives Sam Farr (D-CA) and Jon Porter (R-NV) are proud to announce a new start for the CTTC.  They have pledged to work in a bipartisan manner to promote issues important to the travel and tourism industry and to educate Members and staff about these issues.

Travel and tourism has the unique honor of being one of a few true coast to coast industries with a footprint in each of the 50 states and all 435 congressional districts. In 2003 alone, travel and tourism contributed over $500 billion to the United States economy, generating $98.8 billion in tax revenues for local, state, and federal governments. Nearly 18 million Americans are employed, making travel and tourism one of the largest employers in the United States.

The mission of the Congressional Travel & Tourism Caucus is to educate Congress on a wide variety of policy issues that relate to and impact travel and tourism nationwide. At the end of the day, the CTTC prides itself on highlighting and ensuring the vitality of the often overlooked contribution of travel and tourism to the economic and social welfare of the United States.

Sincerely,

SAM FARR (D - CA) & JON PORTER (R - NV)
