Transportation
 The safety of our skies has never been more important. Congresswoman Sanchez voted in favor of both the Aviation Security Act (P.L. 107-71), which will improve airport security through the federalization of airport baggage handlers and many other security programs, as well as the Air Transportation Safety and System Stabilization Act (P.L. 107-42), which compensates struggling air carriers for the losses they incurred as a result of the terrorist attacks on the United States. Supporting our vital transportation infrastructure is one way to encourage travel and ensure that the spirit of democracy in our country is not destroyed.
In Orange County, roads continue to face growing congestion. Congresswoman Sanchez understands the need to help free people from rush hour traffic, freeway congestion, air pollution, and accidents, by supporting legislation which will benefit all commuters. She is a strong supporter of mass transit projects as an effective means of providing commuters with safe and easy alternatives for travel. The Congresswoman supports the construction of a light rail system to be built through six cities in Orange County, and the construction of a high speed train in California.
