Keeping America Safe
As the second Ranking Democrat on the House Committee on Homeland Security, Loretta spends much of her
time in Washington working on protecting the country and its citizens.

Fighting terrorism
In December of 2004, she voted for S 2845, the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004, which implemented many of the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission and was signed into law.
S 2845 made many improvements to the weaker version that was originally considered in the House of Representatives, H.R. 10.

Border Security
Representative Sanchez believes that we should enforce our immigration laws and discourage undocumented immigrants from entering the United States. As such, she is an avid supporter of full funding for the State Criminal Alien Assistance Program, a cost-effective program designed to reduce the criminal alien population in the United States. She is strongly committed to the full and effective enforcement of our nation's laws and borders.
