Orange County is located approximately 30 miles south of downtown Los Angeles and 90 miles north of San Diego. Its central location makes it an excellent place to base a Southern Californiavacation. The county itself spans over 700 square miles of some of the best known and exciting sights in California.

Orange County offers sports fans the best in professional sports. The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and the World Champion Anaheim Angels make their home in my district. Edison International Field of Anaheim and the Arrowhead Pond not only host professional sports teams, they also serve as major entertainment venues, hosting hundreds of concerts and performances each year.

Orange County is probably best known for Disneyland, but the recent addition of the California Adventure Theme Park and the other local favorite, Knott’s Berry Farm, make the county a premier family entertainment destination.

BUSINESS
Orange County is a growing metropolis with an booming housing and construction market. Some of the nation’s most influential companies call OC home including Toshiba, Pacific Sunwear and Pacificare.

EMPLOYMENT
Despite recent economic downturns, Orange County has maintained a relatively low rate of unemployment at a little over 3 percent.

EDUCATION
Home to over 11 public and 7 private colleges and universities, including Chapman University and California State University,Fullerton.Orange County remains in the national forefront of scientific research and higher education.
