Homeland Security Representative Sanchez has been diligently working to assure that our most critical national security needs our met. She has been fighting to make sure that our airports are safe, to assist the victims as they recover and rebuild from the events of September 11th, to strengthen the economy, and to win the campaign against the evil of terrorism.
Crime & Law Enforcement Congresswoman Sanchez supports a federal/state partnership to reduce crime and violence in our neighborhoods. She has worked hard to reduce juvenile violence, control unsafe and illegal gun use, and direct attention to the growing problem of production and abuse of methamphetamines. Defense/Armed Services Representative Sanchez has been a member of the House Armed Services Committee since becoming a member of Congress in January 1997. As a member of the this Committee, she works hard to ensure that the United States maintains its position as the most powerful and best-equipped military force in the world.	Transportation Congresswoman Sanchez is working to improve transportation alternatives for commuters and travelers by supporting the struggling airline industry and various public transportation projects throughout Orange County.
Education  There is little that Loretta cares more about than the education of the nation's young people. The issue education is one of the primary reasons she came to work in Washington.	Veteran's Issues   As a member of the House Committee on Armed Services, Representative Sanchez has worked to improve the quality of life for our American military personnel, their families, retirees, and our veterans. Environment Representative Sanchez has consistently worked to improve the safety of our communities while supporting environmental conservation efforts. She firmly believes that we should not only preserve our natural resources, but work to enhance our environment for generations to come.
