Communities Receive EPA Grants to Redevelop Contaminated Sites

HARTFORD, CT - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency today awarded sixteen “brownfields” grants to communities across Connecticut, totaling more than $3.8 million in funding. Over $956,000 will impact communities in the First Congressional District that Congressman Larson represents. “Reclaiming abandoned or contaminated brownfield sites is a critical part of revitalizing areas of our cities and towns that are disused,” said Larson. “These grants are important to our regional organizations as they work to assist the communities they serve in redevelopment efforts.”
