Dear Friend:

We are here to help constituents deal with federal agencies and to update you about several issues I am working on in Washington. To receive periodic updates on Congressional activity, please click here to subscribe to my e-newsletter.

The most important thing we do is solve problems for local residents and businesses. Below are several services that we can provide.

Business
We can assist you in seeking a loan from the Small Business Administration (SBA), provide you with information about SBA seminars and provide information about opportunities to sell goods and services to the U.S. Government. We can also help you obtain assistance from federal agencies that promote U.S. exports.

Seniors
We can assist with Medicare by helping to determine which health care services are eligible for coverage, and assist with reimbursement difficulties. We can provide information about various Social Security programs, including retirement and survivor benefits, disability and Supplemental Security Income (SSI). We can also help resolve problems with the Social Security Administration.

Academy Appointments
Each year I recommend a select group of high school graduates from my district for admission to the U.S. service academies: Army, Navy, Air Force, and Merchant Marine. The nominations are made on a non-political, competitive basis. Applicants must be residents of the 2nd Congressional District. If you are interested in applying, please contact us early in your junior year.

Washington Tours
We can help you with tickets for tours of the U.S. Capitol, Supreme Court and other important Washington sites. Please give us as much notice as possible. I hope you will also stop by to see me in Room 2113 of the Rayburn House Office Building.

Other Services
We can also assist with veterans benefits; immigration and citizenship; foreign travel (passports, visas) or IRS problems.
