If you choose to have your flag flown over the United States Capitol, please complete the following information for the certificate. If you have multiple flags to fly, they must all be flown on the same date. If you have multiple flags to fly on the same date, and you would like different names and/or occasions to appear on each certificate, please leave the name and occasion information below blank, and use a separate document to enclose that information.

Flag Selection

Please consider the following when selecting the size and type of flag. A cotton flag should be used indoors or when using a shadow box, and nylon flags should be used when the flag will be outdoors. Also the size of the flag selected should be chosen by the height or location of your flag pole. Flags which fly from angled poles on homes and those which are displayed on standing poles in offices and other outdoor displays are either 3'x 5' or 4' x 6', a flag pole of 20 feet should have a flag size of 4' x 6' a flag of 25 feet should have a flag size of 5' x 8'.
