Passports

If you’re in the market for a passport, the best advice that we can give you is to apply early! We recommend that you apply for a passport 8-10 weeks prior to your departure date. If the country you’re traveling to also requires that you have a visa, you should apply for a passport even earlier to allow adequate time for the visa application process, which varies by country and can take anywhere from 1 week to 45 days or longer.

If you have emergency travel plans that do not allow for the standard processing time, the Department of State Officer Expedited Processing for a fee. You must still allow a minimum of three weeks processing time for expedited passport service.

If you’re travel date is sooner than three weeks, or if you are having complications with the passport application process, please call my Greenville office for help. We have had tremendous success helping folks get passports quickly and we’ll do everything that we can to help you as well. When you call, please have the following information available for each application:

  1. Full Name
  2. Home Address
  3. Phone Numbers (home, work, mobile)
  4. Date of Birth
  5. Date of Travel
  6. Social Security Number

Let’s Get Started!

If your dilemma involves an agency or a department of the federal government, and you have first tried to resolve matters yourself, then I would be honored to have the opportunity to help. Getting things started involves three simple steps:

  1. Complete a Privacy Act Release Form (PDF). The Privacy Act of 1974 requires that we have your written permission prior to making any inquiries with federal government agencies. Please make sure you sign and date the form.
  2. Assemble all supporting documentation, if applicable, and your completed Privacy Act Release Form. Please do not include original documents unless otherwise instructed by my staff – include photocopies only.
  3. Send all information to my office. You may do this by mail, fax, or in person. We cannot accept electronic versions of the Privacy Act Release Form as we must have an original signature on file.
