Internal Revenue Service

If there’s one government agency that most folks don’t want to face alone, it’s the IRS. I am happy to report, however, that nearly gone are the days of testy, cantankerous IRS agents.

Now there’s “TAS”, the Taxpayer Advocate Service, which was created to show a kinder, gentl-er side of the IRS. The Taxpayer Advocate Service works to help folks who are experiencing economic harm, who need help resolving tax problems that have not been resolved through normal channels, or who believe that an IRS procedure is not working like it should.

If you’ve been unsuccessful in resolving matters through regular channels, please contact the Taxpayer Advocate Service for assistance.

If you’d prefer that my office approach the IRS on your behalf, I am happy to do that as well. Just call my Greenville or Spartanburg office and ask for the staffer who handles IRS issues.

If you simply need tax forms or publications, please visit the IRS’s website.
