Readington

  • Congressman Ferguson secured approval of $400,000 for improvements along the County Route 523 corridor from Oldwick south to U.S. 22 in the Readington-Tewksbury Improvement District.

  • The Readington Township Police Department received a $7,400 first-responder grant from the Homeland Security Department to purchase surveillance equipment.

  • Congressman Ferguson voted to provide Readington public schools with more than $41,578 in federal elementary and secondary education aid in fiscal year 2007. Congressman Ferguson has voted to increase federal education funding for New Jersey schools by more than 33 percent since 2001.

  • The Readington Volunteer Fire Company received a $21,4921 first-responder grant from the Homeland Security Department to purchase new safety equipment.

  • The Whitehouse First Aid and Rescue Squad received a $1.2 million low-interest federal loan to help underwrite the costs of building a new fire station. Whitehouse officials say the new 13,500 square-foot facility will provide space for all rescue vehicles and accommodate continued growth, while speeding response time and allowing the rescue vehicles to be maintained on site.
