Winfield

  • Congressman Ferguson voted to provide Winfield public schools with more than $34,491 in federal elementary and secondary education aid in fiscal year 2007. Congressman Ferguson has voted to increase federal education funding for New Jersey schools by more than 33 percent since 2001.

  • Congressman Ferguson voted to reduce taxes for Winfield residents, including doubling the child tax credit to $1,000, reducing the marriage penalty faced by two-income families, making college expenses tax deductible, reducing taxes on capital gains and dividends, and reducing all tax brackets benefiting every worker in Winfield.

  •  Congressman Ferguson announced that Union County received $231,014 for emergency shelter grants, which provide homeless persons with basic shelter and essential supportive service, including homeless prevention assistance to persons at imminent risk of losing their own housing due to eviction, foreclosure or utility shutoffs.

  •  Congressman Ferguson secured congressional approval of $250,000 for Union County College’s Community Learning Center, which provides services to students in Winfield and throughout Union County.
