The Congressional Arts Caucus is coordinating An Artistic Discovery, an annual art competition for students in grades nine through twelve. As your U.S. Representative, I invite your students to participate in the 2008 Congressional Art Competition and national exhibit.
This competition provides a wonderful opportunity for your student artists. The event recognizes the rich artistic talents of high school students across the nation. The winning entry selected to represent the Fourth Congressional District of Kentucky will be displayed in our nation’s Capitol in Washington, D.C., as part of an exhibition comprised of artwork from across the country. The first place winner will also receive three airline tickets to the ribbon cutting ceremony and an art school scholarship.
In an effort to encourage our youth to participate in the arts, I am reaching out to all high school students in Kentucky’s Fourth District. I would appreciate your support of this competition and ask that you encourage your students to participate. All participants’ artwork will be on public display for one week at the Main branch of the Boone County Public Library located at 1786 Burlington Pike, Burlington, Kentucky, 41005. The competition will conclude with an awards ceremony on Saturday April 26, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. The winners and prizes will be announced and distributed at this ceremony.
