The Medicare Part D program is a very important opportunity for Medicare beneficiaries, particularly those who do not have a prescription drug benefit plan, to obtain one through Medicare. Medicare recipients have until May 15, 2006, to complete enrollment in the drug benefit program without penalty.
Seniors save by signing up
A recent AARP poll shows that 78 percent of seniors who signed up for the program are happy with the results. Additionally, a Washington Post-ABC News poll shows that, among the senior citizens who have enrolled, three-quarters found the paperwork to be easier than they expected and nearly two-thirds have saved money by signing up.
