| Serving as your representative for the Seventeenth District of Texas is an honor for which I am thankful.
From educators to farmers to healthcare professionals to factory workers and many others, the Seventeenth District is rich in diversity. Along with the diversity of the district comes a variety of opinions on issues. As your representative in Washington, I pledge to be accessible and listen to your views.
Representing you and your interests is my highest priority.

During my term, I have set goals that will improve our nation: - Fight the War on Terror aggressively, strengthen our national defense, and protect the homeland from attack.
- Keep the promises we have made to our nation's veterans and provide them with the support they deserve;
- Preserve and protect Social Security and Medicare for current and future generations;
- Bring taxpayer relief to America's working families, farmers, and small business owners;
- Improve access to quality education from pre-school through advanced study;
- Ensure the competitiveness of our nation's food and fiber producers and maintain the security of our nation's food supply;
- Improve our roads, bridges, airports, and ports.
