Transportation

It is important that our roadways are safe, our railways are secure, and our airports function in a productive and efficient manner. I am committed to working towards the safety of our aging highway system while making sure that new roads are build in South Texas for the benefit of culture, community, and commerce. In the 110th Congress, I was in support of reauthorization legislation for the Federal Aviation Administration. This legislation will provide more safety for consumers as well as much needed air traffic control system upgrades. As there are many international rail crossings within the 28th Congressional District of Texas, I am well aware of the economic benefits that accompany international commerce. I will work to make sure that safety and homeland security are a priority when considering the trains and cargo going to and from the countries that surround the United States of America.
