As each day goes by, Oklahomans feel the growing pressure caused by steadily increasing gas and energy prices. But the high cost of energy isn't just hurting Americans when they pay at the gas pump, it is also causing the price of goods and services to go up rapidly. It's putting a greater economic burden on families, small businesses, local governments, truckers and farmers.
Congress needs to come together to create a plan for energy independence that increases domestic production, utilizes clean and reliable sources of energy, builds new refineries and provides tax incentives for conservation and energy efficiency. This is a commonsense plan that will create American jobs, drive down gas prices and help bring about stability to our economy. Please visit the newsroom to see what I am doing to change our nation's energy outlook. Also, I always appreciate hearing from you about ways to bolster American energy - so please contact me with your ideas, questions, and comments.
