Are you from the 4th District of Michigan? Type in your zip code here to find out.
Encompassing the vast central and northwest section of Michigan's Lower Peninsula, the 4th Congressional District is a combination of lush green forests, fertile farmland and scenic shoreline. Heading north from Lansing and Grand Rapids for summer hunting or winter skiing, small towns dot the landscape and sugar beets, red tart cherries, corn or potatoes grow in the fields.
The district is home to several of Michigan's premier higher education institutions, including Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Ferris State University in Big Rapids, and Saginaw Valley State University. In addition, several smaller colleges are spread throughout the district, which is Michigan's second largest district based on land size. Schools include Northwood University, Baker College of Owosso, Mid-Michigan Community College, Alma College, Kirtland Community College, Delta College, Great Lakes College, Northwestern Michigan College and Montcalm Community College. The 4th district includes 14 counties. Agriculture, tourism, and recreation fuel a large portion of the area's economy.
