10/2/2008 Boswell Meets With Iowa County WWII Veterans For Immediate Release Eighteen Veterans from Iowa County Travel to Washington to Visit WWII Monument Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Leonard Boswell, a twenty-year Army veteran, greeted the Iowa County WWII veterans who traveled to Washington, DC to visit the World War II Memorial. Iowa County and Williamsburg, Iowa VFW Post #8797 honored the veterans with a trip to view the memorial that was built in their honor. “It was a great pleasure and an honor to meet with these eighteen veterans,” said Boswell. “I couldn’t see their send-off in Williamsburg because I was in Washington, but made sure I saw them while they were here. I saw them at the Arlington Cemetery yesterday, and met them when they got off the bus at the WWII Memorial today. It was a tremendous effort on the part of the people in Iowa County to send these veterans to Washington.
