The House received a communication from Rose Auman, District Director. Pursuant to Rule VIII of the Rules of the House of Representatives, Ms. Auman notified the House that she had been served with a judicial subpoena issued by the Orange County, North Carolina District Court for trial testimony and that after consultation with the Office of General Counsel, she had determined that compliance with the subpoena was consistent with the priveleges and rights of the House.

The House received a communication from the Honorable Robert E. Andrews. Pursuant to Rule VIII of the Rules of the House of Representatives, Mr. Andrews notified the House that he had been served with a subpoena for documents issued by the Superior Court of New Jersey, Gloucester County, and that after consultation with the Office of General Counsel, he had determined that compliance with the subpoena was consistent with the precedents and privileges of the House.

3:16 P.M. -
POSTPONED PROCEEDINGS - At the conclusion of the debate on the Ryan of Wisconsin motion to instruct conferees on S.Con.Res. 21, the Chair put the question on adoption of the motion and by voice vote, announced that the noes had prevailed. Mr. Ryan demanded the yeas and nays and the Chair postponed further proceedings on the question of adoption of the motion until later in the legislative day.

It shall then be in order for the House to insist on its amendment to S. Con. Res. 21 and to ask for a conference.
