New Capitol Visitor Center Website Provides Visitors with Expanded Information About Touring the Capitol

Visitors to the U.S. Capitol can now find expanded information about visiting the Capitol at the new Capitol Visitor Center web site at: http://www.visitthecapitol.gov.  The Capitol Visitor Center opens to the public on December 2, 2008.  Visit the web site now to learn about booking tours, amenities at the Visitor Center, the Exhibition Hall and tips for visiting the Capitol.

Power to Save
October is Energy Awareness Month.  On October 8, the Office of the Architect of the Capitol (AOC launched its new energy awareness program -- Power to Save.  "We believe as should be leaders in the national effort to conserve energy, and as stewards of the Capitol complex, we will continue to do our part to make this goal a reality in our facilities," said Acting Architect of the Capitol Stephen T. Ayers, AIA.  "You Can help us make a difference." Click the banner above to learn more about the Power to Save program.


Visiting the Capitol
The Capitol is open to the public for guided tours only. Tours are conducted from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday - Saturday (the Capitol is not available for tours on Sundays), and is open on all federal holidays except Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Visitors must obtain free tickets for tours at the Capitol Guide Service kiosk located along the curving sidewalk southwest of the Capitol. Ticket distribution begins at 9:00 a.m. daily, and the maximum tour size is 40 people. For accessibility information and tours for the disabled, please contact the Congressional Special Services Office: 202-224-4048 (voice) or 202-224-4049 (TDD).

The Architect of the Capitol has a wide range of procurement opportunities. All AOC procurements are awarded by the Procurement Division, which is located at the Ford House Office Building.
