Program Information – Through this category the National Endowment for the Arts seeks to make the excellence and diversity of the arts widely available to the American public through nationally distributed television and radio programs. Grants are available to support the development, production, and national distribution of radio and television programs on the arts. Priority will be given to artistically excellent programs that have the potential to reach a significant national audience, regardless of the size or geographic location of the applicant organization. Only programs of artistic excellence and merit, in both the media production and the subject, will be funded. Projects may include high profile multi-part television and radio series, single documentaries, performance programs, or arts segments for use within an existing series. Programs may deal with any art form (e.g., visual arts, music, dance, literature, design, theater, musical theater, and opera, and film/video/audio art, folk & traditional arts). Programs targeted to children and youth are welcome. All phases of a project -- research and development, production, completion and distribution costs -- are eligible for support.    

Eligibility Criteria – State, county and city  governments, special district governments, Independent school districts, public and State controlled institutions of higher education, Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized), non-profits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education and Private institutions of higher education.  In addition, the applicant organization must meet the Arts Endowment's legal requirements at the time of application and must have submitted acceptable Final Report packages by the due date(s) for all Arts Endowment award(s) previously received.  

Funding History – All grants require a non-federal match of at least 1 to 1.  For radio projects, grants generally range from $10,000 to $100,000.  For television projects, research and development grants generally range from $10,000 to $25,000; Grants for single documentaries generally range from $25,000 to $50,000; Grants for multi-part series vary according to the complexity and scope of the project. In rare instances, the Arts Endowment may recommend an award over $200,000 for a project with demonstrated quality, significance, and impact.   The Arts Endowment's support of a project may start on May 1, 2009, or any time thereafter. Generally, a grant period of up to three years is allowed.

Targeted Approaches to Weight Control for Young Adults

Program Information – The National Institutes of Health solicits cooperative agreement applications from institutions and organizations that propose to conduct two-phase clinical research studies to develop, refine, and test innovative behavioral and/or environmental approaches for weight control in young adults at high risk for weight gain. Weight control interventions can address weight loss, prevention of weight gain, or prevention of excessive weight gain during pregnancy. The first phase will consist of formative research to refine the proposed intervention, recruitment, retention, and adherence strategies tailored to young adults. The second phase will consist of a randomized controlled trial to test the efficacy of the intervention. For the purpose of this FOA, young adults are defined as 18-35 years of age.
Eligibility Criteria – Public and State Controlled Institutions of Higher Education,  Private Institutions of Higher Education, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian Serving Institutions, Nonprofits with 501(c)(3) IRS Status (Other than Institutions of Higher Education), Nonprofits without 501(c)(3) IRS Status (Other than Institutions of Higher Education), For-Profit Organizations (Other than Small Businesses), Indian/Native American Tribal Governments (Federally Recognized), Indian/Native American Tribally designated organizations, eligible Agencies of the federal government, faith-based or community-based organizations and regional Organizations

Funding History – Total program funding is $3,600,000; maximum grant size is $650,000; estimated number of awards is 3-4.

Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program

Program Information -The Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program Act authorizes the Secretary of Interior to provide technical and financial assistance to private landowners interested in restoring, enhancing, and managing fish and wildlife habitats on their own lands.   The Partners Program can assist with projects in all habitat types which conserve or restore native vegetation, hydrology, and soils associated with imperiled ecosystems such as longleaf pine, bottomland hardwoods, tropical forests, native prairies, marshes, rivers and streams, or otherwise provide an important habitat requisite for a rare, declining or protected species.  If you are interested in pursuing a project under the Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program it is recommended you contact your State coordinator for additional details.

Eligibility Criteria –Eligible entities include private landowners, tribal governments, local governments, educational institutions and organizations.

Funding History – Total program funding is $33,000,000.00.  Funding above $25,000 for an individual project must be approved at the Washington office level.

Economic Development Assistance Programs: Availability of Funds under the Public Works and Economic Development Act of 1965 and the Trade Act of 1974

Program Information - EDA announces general policies and application procedures for grant-based investments that will promote comprehensive, entrepreneurial and innovation-based economic development efforts to enhance the competitiveness of regions, resulting in increased private investment and higher-skill, higher-wage jobs in areas experiencing substantial and persistent economic distress. Under this program, EDA funds a national network of eleven non-profit organizations known as Trade Adjustment Assistance Centers, with each being assigned a different geographic service region, which in turn provide trade adjustment assistance to firms that have been adversely affected by increased import competition.

Eligibility Criteria - Eligible applicants are non-profits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education, county governments, native American tribal governments (Federally recognized), State governments, public and State controlled institutions of higher education, special district governments, city or township governments, or including a special purpose unit of a State or local government engaged in economic or infrastructure development activities.
