Armed Services

When members of the armed services encounter problems, they are advised to go through their chain of command. However, some circumstances might be helped by congressional intervention. To ask for an investigation by the secretary of a particular branch of service, a letter from the service member requesting my assistance is required. The letter must include the member's Social Security number, full name, and military address.

In most cases, because of the Privacy Act, I will need a letter outlining your problem and giving me the authority to act on your behalf. Please also include this privacy release form with your letter to grant me permission to help you.

If you would like my assistance, please call Ann Potocnak in my Herndon office at (703) 709-5800.
