Whitfield Secures $1.6 Million For First District Projects
Nov 18, 2005
Congressman Ed Whitfield announced Friday that the House has passed a bill that provides $1.6 million in funding for a number of transportation and community service projects throughout the First District. The funds were contained in the FY 2006 Transportation-Treasury-HUD-Judiciary Appropriations Conference Report which passed the House today by a vote of 392-31. The Senate is expected to pass the Conference Agreement shortly, thus clearing the measure for the Presidents signature.

--$220,000 for the Fulton County Transit Authority for three RV cutaways, one mini-van and one support vehicle.
--$93,000 for the Pennyrile Allied Community Services for three RV cutaways with lifts.
--$75,000 for Crittenden County to expand the Crittenden County Day Care Center.
--$70,000 to the City of Tompkinsville for the completion of the Tompkinsville Senior Citizens Housing Complex.
--$44,000 to the Henderson Area Rapid Transit Authority for a RV cutaway with lifts.
"These are very important projects that will help address the transportation and housing needs of many communities throughout the First District," said Whitfield. I am pleased my colleagues have recognized the importance of these initiatives in Kentuckys First District.
