WASHINGTON (September 11, 2007) – Congressman Adam Putnam issued the following statement today in observance of the anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001:
“Today belongs to the loved ones of those innocents who lost their lives in Shanksville, Washington, and New York City that fateful Tuesday morning six Septembers ago.
“The unspeakable grief we felt that day still resonates in our prayers, and the stirring unity we forged in the weeks after still fuels our resolve. We have not forgotten the simple acts of kindness on the ground, the heroism of the police, firefighters, and first responders at the Pentagon and Ground Zero, and the hateful, cowardly enemy that attacked our way of life from the sky.
“Today, in renewing our vow to always remember what happened on that day, we also rededicate ourselves to the cause of freedom, and the memory of those brave men and women of our Armed Forces who have fallen from the line in its defense.”
