WASHINGTON - Congressman Adam H. Putnam (FL-12), a member of the Rules and Budget Committees, today made the following statement on this morning’s terrorist attacks in London.
“Our nation’s heart hurts to see our allies and kinsmen in Britain suffer from yet another attack on freedom. It is clear that these terrorists revile both life and liberty wherever it exists: be it in London, Madrid, New York or Baghdad.
“How ironic that the leaders of the civilized world, representing a multitude of faiths in their own countries, were at the precise time of the attack planning the allocation of billions in relief and aid to the suffering corners of the globe while the terrorist minions are simply bent on blowing it up.
“The attack is also a reminder that there is much more to do in defending our values and our rights as free people around the globe, and that it is not an American struggle, but a human one. Indeed, a Revolution fought 229 years ago began over far less an atrocity than this. Today, Britain, America and the world must stand united to defend the universal values of freedom, liberty and equality.”
