WASHINGTON - Congressman Adam H. Putnam (FL-12) today honored the Seffner Armwood Hawks after a hard fought victory over the Lake Gibson Braves in the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Class 4A championship game.

“Today I honor Armwood High School, Coach Sean Callahan and his coaching staff and the entire football team as Class 4A state champions, their second straight championship,” said Putnam. “I also want to applaud the valiant efforts of Coach Keith DeMyer and the entire Lake Gibson football team, even though they came up short in this year’s state championship game.”

“I applaud both Coach Sean Callahan and Coach Keith DeMyer for their dedication to their players and teaching them the importance a strong work ethic, team work, determination, hard work and sportsmanship,” Putnam stated.

“I commend the champion Armwood High School football team and runner-ups Lake Gibson High School for a wonderful seasons. The people of Florida and all of Polk County are proud of both of you,” concluded Putnam.
