Internet Freedom
Introduction | Press Releases | Legislation | Documents & Videos
Rep. Markey, chairman of the Subcommittee on Telecommunications and the Internet, is an outspoken advocate of preserving Internet freedom through network neutrality rules. Rep. Markey believes that an open, non-discriminatory Internet experience is vital for innovation to flourish and for consumers to reap the benefit of their broadband services. Rep. Markey offered an amendment on net neutrality to the telecommunications bill in the 109th Congress, and will continue in the current legislative session to fight for an Internet free from unreasonable discrimination by broadband network providers.
