(Washington, D.C.) – Today, U.S. Representative Sue Myrick (NC-9) was awarded the “Taxpayers’ Friend Award.” This award was given by the National Taxpayers Union (NTU), and was based upon all 201 roll call votes which affected fiscal policy in 2005.
“While many Members of Congress talk about reducing the size of government, Rep. Myrick backs up those words with votes. By consistently voting to reduce federal spending, taxes, and debt, Rep. Myrick has truly earned the title, ‘Taxpayers’ Friend,’” said John Berthoud, President of the NTU.
The NTU is a non-partisan citizen organization composed of more than 350,000 members. It works for lower taxes, smaller government, and more economic freedom at all levels of government.
