Water Quality
Ensuring that Arkansans and our neighbors have clean water to drink without stifling the economic engines of the region is perhaps the most important issue to the Third District.
As the Third District continues to grow at a remarkable pace, it is important that we address this issue in a way that allows for continued growth while protecting the environment and public health. I am committed to clean drinking water for families in every state, not just Arkansas. I believe this can be accomplished, and I promise, as the Ranking Member on the Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Water Resources, to see how the federal government can help find beneficial solutions to our region's problems.
Since much the work on this issue is done at the state and local levels, I promise to work closely with our state and municipal officials to help facilitate discussions between states. I will also search for ways that the federal government can provide assistance through funding options and pilot programs. If we tackle this problem now and address it correctly, our solution can serve as a model for the rest of the country.
