Congressman Kendrick Meek (right side, top row) met with students from Dr. Michael Krop High School and Miami Edison High School outside the U.S. Capitol on May 21, 2008. Meek spoke with the sophomores, juniors and seniors about the importance of public service, Haiti and legislative issues before the U.S. Congress. The group was visiting Washington, DC courtesy of the Close Up Foundation, an organization which engages students to become active citizens in our democracy.
