Rep. Calvert: Remembering Our Troops this Holiday Season
Dear Friends,
Like many of you, the days after Thanksgiving are filled with “To Do” lists for the upcoming holidays. During this busy time of year, it is important that we remember our soldiers, marines, airmen and sailors who are far from home and their families. After all, the freedom and liberties for which we are so thankful are secure by our men and women in uniform.
If you would like to send a care package or card to a deployed service member, please visit www.americasupportsyou.mil for a list of organizations, many of whom will be coordinating holiday gifts to the troops. If you have a family member or friend serving overseas, please use the table below as a guide for when you should ship your card or package. Basically, you must mail by December 4th for anyone serving in Iraq or Afghanistan and by December 11th for all other overseas military postings.

I hope your upcoming weeks are enjoyable and festive! I sincerely thank our military, and their families, for sacrificing so that the rest of us may enjoy the holidays under the blanket of freedom that they provide.
Sincerely,
KEN CALVERT
Member of Congress
