  • What is Senator Collins Privacy Statement?

    The Internet privacy policy of this site is simple: we do not collect personal information about you when you visit this site unless you specifically choose to provide that information. Personal information that is provided will only be used by my office so that we may contact you about an issue you have raised, help you with a problem, or respond to a request to be added to our mailing list. We view your personal privacy as a priority and will be glad to answer any questions or concerns you may have about our Internet privacy policy. The U.S. Senate's web hosting environment uses ColdFusion on its servers. These cookies may be session or client variables that are used to maintain state in applications and are deleted from the servers every day. ColdFusion identifier cookies do not contain personal or sensitive information and are never used for tracking purposes. The U.S. Senate collects aggregate data about visits to Senate websites, such as statistics that show which parts of each website were visited the most. The following information is also collected when you visit any U.S. Senate website: the domain from which you access the Senate website, the date and time of your visit, the pages you visit, and the address of the website, if any, that provided the link from which you reached the Senate site. This information is gathered only for the purpose of enabling us to improve the online service we provide to visitors to Senate websites.   • Is there any place to eat when I am in the Capitol and Senate buildings?

    Yes, in the basement level of the Dirksen Building there is Cafeteria which serves breakfast and lunch, there is also a coffee and sandwich shop called Cups located in the basement of the Russel building. You can always walk to Union Station where there is a large food court located on the basement level.
  • How do I get to Senator Collins DC office from Union Station?

    The Senate side of the Capitol is near the Red Line of the DC Metro System at the Union Station metro stop. Upon exiting Union Station walk towards the Capitol. The Dirksen Building is the middle of the three Senate Office buildings. The nearest entrance to the Senator's office is at the courner of constitution Ave. and First Street Northeast. Her office is 461, located on the fourth floor.
  • How do I apply for an internship for Senator Collins?

    If you would like to intern in one of the Senator's six state offices, you can either call or mail a resume directly to the office in which you would like to intern. Contacting the state office is prefered approach.   • Why doesn't Senator Collins have an email address? Why do I have to write my email in a web-based email system?

    The web-based e-mail system helps to process the high volume of correspondence she receives. Unfortunately, the address that she previously maintained was susceptible to SPAM mail, viruses, and chain letters from special interest groups located outside our state.
  • What time are tours of the Capitol Building?

    10:00am and 2:00pm – tours are about an hour long.

    If you have an invitation for the Senator, please fax your request to: (202) 228-5818. All invitations for Senator Collins should be received in writing.
