Sanctity of Human Life
The United States has always been a compassionate nation that cherishes innocent human life at all stages of development, from conception to natural death. Tragically, judicial activists on the Supreme Court manufactured an interpretation of the Constitution allowing abortion in the 1973 case of Roe v. Wade, resulting in the death of millions of unborn children every year.
Congressman McHenry is a champion of pro-life causes in the House of Representatives and will fight to create a culture of life for all Americans. This includes defending the ban on partial birth abortion, fighting any effort to legalize euthanasia, and supporting efforts to reduce abortions.
The Congressman is a cosponsor of the Right to Life Act of 2005 (H.R. 579) guaranteeing constitutional rights to the unborn, the Unborn Child Pain Awareness Act (H.R. 356) requiring abortion centers to fully inform patients regarding pain felt by the unborn and the Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act (H.R. 748) that would make it illegal to transport a minor across state lines for the express purpose of circumventing home state parental notice laws.
