Constituent Services

Every year, seventy-two young men and women are appointed by their Member of Congress to serve as Congressional Pages. I am proud to nominate students to represent the Sixth District of North Carolina.

The page program is open to any high school junior at least 16 years of age with an overall "B" average in all the major courses. The page program operates during the school year and has two summer sessions. If selected to attend the school year session, students will attend classes in the mornings.

The pages are required to live in the Page Residence Hall and are paid for their time, but live by a strict code of conduct. Pages serve as messengers, delivering various material among the many buildings on Capitol Hill and are responsible for filing the Congressional Record from the previous day's proceedings.

There are only seventy-two pages, so competition is tough. If you are interested in learing more or would like an application, contact Scott Harkey in my Washington office at (202) 225-3065.
