WASHINGTON, D.C. During House Floor debate, Representative Edward J. Markey (D-Malden) urged Congress to oppose the US-India Nuclear Deal because it fails to meet the common-sense nonproliferation conditions set by Congress two years ago. Despite Rep. Markey's opposition, the House voted in support of the deal and passed H. R. 7081 - United States-India Nuclear Cooperation Approval and Nonproliferation Enhancement Act - on September 27th.
