Energy Project Planned for City Buildings
A new $6.1 million energy management project approved by City Council will reduce the City's energy usage by 28 percent and will pay for itself through energy savings over the next 13 years. Council approved the energy performance contract with Potomac Electric Power Company (PEPCO) during its December 2 meeting.

The contract provides for replacement of outdated equipment in several City buildings and offers innovative ideas to achieve additional energy savings. The work will be accomplished in about one year but the savings will continue for years to come.

While PEPCO will manage the project, most of the work will be performed by local companies, including a commitment of 10 percent minority contract representation.

Pay Your Parking Tickets Online

If you have an unpaid parking ticket issued by the City of Greensboro, you can now pay it online using a secure web payment service. Plus, as an added incentive to pay old tickets, the Greensboro City Council has approved an amnesty period during December, which means you will pay only the amount of your ticket. All late fees will be waived if you pay between December 1 and December 31.

Soon, the City will expand this service to allow you to pay your water bills online, as well.
