Washington, Sep 26 -

A U.S. Postal Service employee from High Point recently traveled to Washington, D.C., to be honored for going above and beyond the call of duty.  While in the nation’s capital, David Lundy had the opportunity to visit with his congressman, U.S. Rep. Howard Coble (R-NC).

On September 18, David Lundy came to Washington to receive the National Humanitarian of the Year Award from the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC).  William Young, NALC President, said that David Lundy, “spent a year in persistent pursuit of obtaining care for a patron on his route.”

On September 17, Congressman Coble met with David and his family outside a Judiciary committee room on Capitol Hill where Rep. Coble was attending a hearing.   Joining in the meeting were David’s wife Carolyn and son Kevin.  The Lundys live on Langdale Drive in High Point.
