The Civic Hybrid employs Honda's Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) System a super-efficient 1.3-liter gasoline engine paired with a lightweight, high-output electric motor.
At higher cruising speeds, such as on the highway, the Civic Hybrid's efficient gasoline engine provides plenty of horsepower while still sipping fuel and having a near-zero effect on air quality.
Thanks to an advanced generation of regenerative-breaking technology, the Hybrid's IMA system can tap into the kinetic energy of the car with excellent efficiency. The system's motor turns itself into a generator during breaking, helping to slow the car while it builds up the energy stored in the batteries.
