Sensenbrenner Honored by ACU

Washington, DC, May 28 -

The American Conservative Union (ACU) has named Menomonee Falls Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner (R-WI) to its “Honor Roll” of Members in the 110th Congress for his score of 96% on the ACU’s 2007 “Ratings of Congress.”

The ACU is America’s oldest and largest grassroots conservative organization.  It rates Members of Congress according to their votes on issues relating to the economy, budget, defense and family values.  For 37 years, the ACU’s annual ratings have been widely regarded as the definitive conservative assessment of the federal legislative branch.  A complete listing of the ACU ratings for this and past Congresses can be found at www.acuratings.org.

“The rating Representative Sensenbrenner received reflects consistent support for conservative principles across a broad range of issues,” said Larry Hart, ACU’s Director of Government Relations.  “By comparison, the average score for members of the House for 2007 was 43%.   Representative Sensenbrenner is someone who grassroots conservatives in Wisconsin and across the country will continue to look to for leadership.”

“The ACU’s recognition of my voting record validates my actions on behalf of my constituents, who I listen to when I cast votes on the floor of the House,” said Sensenbrenner.  “Throughout my 29 years in Congress, I have always worked hard to stay on track by doing what’s right by the people of the Fifth District and the nation, and I appreciate this acknowledgment by the ACU.”
