WASHINGTON, D.C. - Third District Congressman Jon Porter issued the following statement in response to the homecoming of approximately 130 soldiers from the Nevada Army Guard’s 1864th Medium Transportation Company later today:

“There could not be a more appropriate way to spend Nevada Day than welcoming home some of our state’s heroes, the men and women of the 1864th.  For over a year these brave soldiers have served their country admirably overseas, playing a major role in the spread of democracy and helping to make the world a safer place.  Nevadans, and all Americans, owe the entire unit a debt of gratitude.”
