PORTER TO HOST HIGHER EDUCATION FINANCING EVENT FOR SOUTHERN NEVADA PARENTS AND STUDENTS
November 21, 2005WASHINGTON, D.C. - On Saturday, December 3 at 10 AM, Third District Congressman Jon Porter will host a post-secondary education financing event for Southern Nevada parents and students. Representatives from the education community will be in attendance to answer questions and offer valuable insights on federal and state student aid benefits.
“As parents across Southern Nevada face the skyrocketing costs associated with higher education, they are constantly looking for ways to help ease the financial burden,” said Porter. “This event is designed to identify grant, loan and scholarship programs that will help them invest in their children’s future while saving more of their hard-earned money.”
This is the first in a series of events Porter will host that will help provide parents and students with the tools they need to prepare for the costs of post-secondary education.
