Please bear with us during this time of heightened security, and be advised that all tour policies are subject to change without public notification.

In the event that the Department of Homeland Security threat level is elevated to Code Orange, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing will be closed to the public unless otherwise noted. The security threat level is currently at Code Yellow.

The Bureau is closed on weekends, federal holidays and the week between Christmas and New Years.

The Bureau is open on the Friday after Thanksgiving...please be advised that this is one of our busiest tour days of the year, so plan ahead. Lines form early and continue throughout the day. Please arrive early to better your chances of making a tour.

Please be advised that strollers are not allowed on the tour.

PUBLIC TOURS - PEAK SEASON - MARCH THROUGH AUGUST - FREE TICKETS ARE REQUIRED

Free tickets are required for all tours from the first Monday in March through the last Friday in August, on a first-come, first-served basis. The ticket booth is located on Raoul Wallenberg Place (formerly 15th Street). We offer same day tickets only. The Ticket Booth opens at 8:00 a.m. - Monday through Friday, and closes when all tickets have been distributed. Lines form early (some days as early as 5:30 a.m.) and tickets go quickly, most days’ (especially during the first two weeks in April ~ Cherry Blossom/Spring Break) tickets are gone by 8:30 a.m. Please plan accordingly.

PUBLIC TOURS - NON-PEAK SEASON - SEPTEMBER THROUGH FEBRUARY - NO TICKETS REQUIRED

You may line up at the Visitors’ Entrance on 14th Street. Please allow 45 – 50 minutes from the time you enter the building until the end of your tour.

Public Tour: 9:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. & 12:30 p.m.-2:00 p.m.(every 15 minutes)

Extended Summer Hours (APRIL-AUG): 2:00 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. ( every 15 minutes) & 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. (every 15 minutes)

School Group Tours (RESERVATIONS REQUIRED): 11:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. (every 15 minutes) (50 people max per tour)

Please complete a Group Reservation Request Form and fax it to 202-874-6331.

Ticket Booth: 8:00 a.m. until all tickets are gone

Visitor Center (Enter at 14th & C): 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Visitor Center Extended Summer Hours: 8:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Congressional/VIP Tour: 8:15 a.m. and 8:45 a.m.
Extended Summer Hours (MAY-AUG): 4:00, 4:15, 4:30 and 4:45 p.m.
