Huntington Beach, Oct 21 - Students in the 46th Congressional district seeking nominations to the United States Service Academies have until November 3, 2008 to complete their applications.

This is a unique opportunity for ambitious young men and women to earn a college degree while serving honorably in our armed forces.

The academies are four-year educational institutions that focus on the knowledge, character, and motivation necessary to build our nation’s leaders. Applicants to the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Military Academy at Westpoint, the U.S. Naval Academy, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy must compete for a nomination from an authorized source, such as a Member of Congress. The U.S. Coast Guard Academy offers an independent, nationally competitive application program.
