St. Clair County was established on November 20, 1818 by the Second Territorial Legislature even before the State of Alabama was born. Located at the end of the Appalachian Mountain Range, in north-central Alabama, St. Clair is known for its natural beauty.

Congressman Spencer Bachus represents a majority of St. Clair County. Pell City is the largest city in St. Clair County and one of two county seats. With a population of over 16,000, Pell City is located 30 miles east of Birmingham, Alabama adjacent to I-20. It has a thriving business community, excellent education and recreational facilities. Beautiful Logan Martin Lake is one of the major attractions for residents and visitors alike. Congressman Bachus also represents in St. Clair County the cities of Moody, Odenville, Ashville, Springville, Ragland, Branchville, and Argo.
