Who We Are

Speaker Pelosi's "30 Something" Working Group consists of the Democratic Members of the House of Representatives who are under the age of 40. These Members are committed to engaging the next generation of Americans further in government and the political process. "30 Something" Members seek to talk and listen to young Americans about the issues they care about and how Congress can better represent their opinions on those issues.

Rep. Jason Altmire (D-PA)

As a strong advocate for rural communities, Rep. Rep. Bill Delahunt (D-MA) - Honorary 30 Something Member
William D. Delahunt represents the Tenth Congressional District of Massachusetts, which includes Cape Cod, the Islands of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, as well as Boston's economically diverse South Shore. He came to Congress in 1997 with a distinguished career in public service and law enforcement and has since been reelected five times.

As co-chair of the Rural Working Group and as South Dakota's at-large Member of Congress, Congresswoman Herseth-Sandlin is dedicated to raising the profile of issues important to rural America. An advocate for rural issues, Congresswoman Herseth-Sandlin serves on three vital committees: Agriculture, Veterans' Affairs, and Natural Resources. In addition, Congresswoman Herseth-Sandlin was selected by Speaker Pelosi to serve on the Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming, in recognition of her advocacy and her leadership on the issue of renewable biofuels.

Rep. Heath Shuler (D-NC)
Congressman Shuler is a loyal member of the fiscally responsible Blue Dog Caucus, which works to end wasteful spending and to balance the budget. Upon entering the 110th Congress he helped lead the charge to restore common-sense PAYGO measures to the budget and install accountability and transparency over "earmarks." Congressman Shuler is also committed to protecting America's working families. He advocated for raising the minimum wage and ending the unfair trade agreements that have shipped thousands of American jobs overseas. He is currently working to ensure that all trade agreements fair to American workers, and protect the environment, and rights of workers in other countries.

The Congresswoman chairs the Committee on Standards of Official Conduct (Ethics). Additionally, she serves on the powerful Ways and Means Committee and is an active member of numerous Congressional Caucuses, including the Congressional Black Caucus.
